We’re Moving!

We are leaving The Canon Mill behind and moving into a new office located in the lovely Leith Links! The big move will take place in May and we will be open at our new premises soon after. Our new address will be Edinburgh Carers Council, Gf5, 14 Links Place, Edinburgh, EH6 7EZ. Disabled access is located around the back of the building. There is free parking, and Lothian buses that travel along this route (including 12, 16). Our telephone number has also changed. Our new telephone number will be: 0131 322 8480.

 

General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

The new General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) are coming into effect on the 25th of May 2018. We are introducing a new privacy policy to help you understand what we are doing to ensure the protection of your data & information. On the back of this newsletter in the bottom left-hand corner you will find a slip to fill in your name, address, and email address. Carers Week & Forum Event 2018

This year our Carers Forum will be combined with our Carers Week Event. Both will be held on Friday, 15th of June 2018, 12:30pm to 4:00 pm. Refreshments and lunch will be provided. The venue is ‘The Mews’, located on 35 Young Street, North Lane, Edinburgh.

Heather from Light Bulb Arts will facilitate a creative arts workshop. No experience is required and all materials will be provided. All you need is your imagination and you can create a beautiful work of art to take home with you. Martin from Turntable Project will facilitate a music and conversation workshop. People will have the opportunity to talk about the music that matters in their lives. You can browse a selection of LPs and select and play a record of your choice.

July 2018 Event: Kiss Me, Kate

This year for our summer event, we have tickets to see the musical Kiss Me, Kate. This will take place on Saturday, July 7th, at 1:00pm, located in the Festival Theatre (13-29 Nicolson St, Edinburgh EH8 9FT). This is a free event and you are welcome to bring a friend! Tickets are limited and will be issued on a first come first serve basis. Each person will be entitled to 2 tickets maximum. Refreshments will be provided before the show, which will begin at 2:15pm. Rachael has joined us!

Our Information & Resource Worker position has been filled, and Rachael has now joined our ECC team! She will be managing the newsletter, website, and Facebook page, organising carers’ social events, amongst other things. She is excited to meet many of you in her new role. Welcome Rachael!

ECC Rainbow Walkers

Maxwell & Lewis will be participating in the Royal Bank of Scotland Kilt Walk 2018 (the Big Stroll—15 miles) in Aberdeen on Sunday 3rd of June.
